Recope Developing us$80 Million
LPG Project
Costa Rica's state oil refiner
Refinadora Costarricene de
Petroleo (Recope) is developing
an LPG project at its Moín
facility that will cost roughly
us$80 million, Recope president
José León Desanti said.
Moín is a port town near
Recope's refinery at Limón port
on the Caribbean coast.
The project includes six storage
spheres with capacity of
25,000b, six 1,500b-capacity
cylinders and a pipeline to
transport LPG from a planned oil
port, also at Moín, León said.
Colombian company Bohorguez
Ingeniería has completed the
project's basic engineering, he
said. All that remains is to
launch a tender in 2007 to draft
detailed engineering.
Spanish firm Soluziona will
carry out a study to draft a
national LPG plan. The
government has provided 250,000
euros (US$331,000) to finance
the study.
