Cold Spell To Continue All Week
Two weeks ago the "rainy" season gave way to the "dry" or summer season, according to the Instituto Meteorológico Nacional (IMN) - the weather experts. They, the IMN, said that the strong winds and cold weather was normal for the seasonal transition, making way for hot and sunny weather.

We did have a few days of hot and sunny weather, however, during the last couple of days, the Central Valley has been inundated with rain and cold winds, and the IMN says it will stay that way for the rest of the week.

The situation here is due to the intense cold winder in the northern hemisphere, as the cold winds are being forced south.

Meteorologist Luis Fernando Alvarado said that this weather condition could be with us during the entire month of December and will affect all parts of the country.

During this time, the meteorologist  recommends to always have a jacket or sweater and an umbrella handy as some days will be colder and wetter than others.

The most affected areas of the country by this cold spell is the Central Valley, with its higher altitude and mountains.

The IMN predicts that the Central and South Pacific regions will stay sunny in the mornings and rain in the afternoons. The Caribbean coast will see increased clouds and scattered rain. The Pacific North (Guanacaste) will be the only exception, where no rain is foreseen.
