Extensive Repercussion of Cuban Anniversaries
The December 2 military parade in Cuba has had an extensive repercussion worldwide, in occasion of festivities for the 50th anniversary of the creation of the Revolutionary Armed Forces (FAR), according to messages received here.

In a letter from Caracas, Venezuela's President Hugo Chavez congratulated the FAR in its 50 years and called Fidel Castro father and brother.

"We sincerely dedicate this triumph to the Cuban people," stated Chavez' release, in reference to the new election journey to be held this Sunday in that South American country.

In Rio de Janeiro, hundreds people celebrated President Fidel Castro's 80th birthday and the 50th anniversary of Granma Yacht landing.

The act was addressed by Cuba's General Consul in Brazil Carlos Trejo and Zuleide Farias, president of the Jose Marti Cultural Association in Rio de Janeiro, who highlighted the island's Revolution's solidary action.

Main mass media in La Paz, Bolivia, highlighted this Sunday the festivities for the FAR 50th anniversary, to refer invulnerability of the island's Revolution.

"La Razon" newspaper stressed how First Vice President Raul Castro opened a dialogue with United States, but always Washington recalls Cuba is a country that does not tolerate shadows to its independence.

Cuban ambassador to Chile Giraldo Mazola received examples of support in an act organized by the Chilean Movement of Solidarity with Cuba.

Timor Leste's Prime Minister Jose Ramo-Horta presided over the act in occasion of Fidel Castro's 80th birthday, the FAR 50th anniversary and the Latin American Medicine Day, which is being held today.

In his speech, Ramo-Horta, also Nobel Peace prizewinner, highlighted Cuba's solidary support given in health and education to that small Asian state.
