Full House at Ortega Swear in
Six hundred foreign guests will
witness the power transfer
between outgoing Nicaraguan
President Enrique Bolaños, and
his successor Sandinista Daniel
Ortega, planned for January 10,
announced official sources
Saturday.
According to chancellor Norman
Caldera, power transfer
commission designated by as
Bolaños as Ortega, will work
jointly on the preparations for
inauguration day that will take
place at Plaza de la Fe, in this
capital.
Caldera said to local press that
among guests will be several
Central and Latin American,
Asian, and European Presidents
and dignitaries.
"I have signed a good quantity
of invitations for the countries
with which we have good
relations, and Ortega is doing a
special invitation for Latin
American, European and Asian
Heads of States,"
The chancellor assured the list
of invited includes the heir to
the Spain throne Asturias Prince
Felipe de Borbon, Taiwan
President Shen Shi Bian,
US ex President Jimmy Carter,
and Costa Rican president Oscar
Arias.
Caldera didn't forget the
presence of Venezuela, Bolivia
and Brazil Presidents Hugo
Chavez, Evo Morales and Luiz
Inacio Lula da Silva,
respectively.
