Bolivians Experience Havana Club
Hundreds of Bolivians learned
this week that the five years to
age Cuban rum is equivalent to
30 years for a whisky, and that
the ritual of savoring the high
quality liquor lies on solid
mainstays of history and
culture.
Young Cuban expert Javier
Blanco, the ambassador of Havana
Club International, spoke about
the famous brand of Cuban rum
during a tour of the main cities
of this South American country.
In the basement bohemian bar "Capotrate"
in La Paz, the Bolivian capital,
Blanco talked to several people
invited by the local Pernod
Ricard Distributing Company,
firm that sells Havana Club in
the world.
The original ambassador
performed a masterly tasting and
told the audience about the best
ways to verify good quality rum,
including its color, bouquet,
and taste, among other signs.
Blanco discussed the history of
rum and explained the rum
production process, as well as
the rich culture of Cuban rum.
