Costa Rica Condemns Tel Aviv Suicide Attack
Costa Rica's Foreign Ministry on Tuesday condemned Monday's suicide bomb attack in Israel's Tel Aviv, which was carried out by a Palestinian radical group and killed at least nine people and wounded 60 others.

The Foreign Ministry said in a statement that the Costa Rican government felt the pain of the attacks targeting Israeli civilians, and that the international community should strongly condemn such "criminal actions" which hindered efforts to establish lasting peace in the Middle East.

The Costa Rican government also called on all sides to continue their efforts for regional stability despite the terrorist acts.

A Palestinian suicide bomber blew himself up near the old central bus station in southern Tel Aviv Monday afternoon. He was identified as Sami Salim Mohamed Hammad, 20, a member of Saraya al-Quds, the armed wing of Islamic Jihad.

It was the first suicide attack in Israel since a Hamas-led Palestinian government was sworn in on March 29.
