Argentine president congratulates Prodi on election victory
Argentine President Nestor Kirchner Tuesday congratulated the leader of Italian center-left coalition, Romano Prodi, on his electoral triumph, a Foreign Ministry statement said.

The center-left coalition led by Romano Prodi on Tuesday beat incumbent Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi's center-right in Italy's parliamentary election.

Kirchner told Prodi that "with this triumph, a new chapter is unfolded, which will without doubt strengthen his country and contribute to upholding the principles of liberty, justice, human rights and solidarity in international affairs."

"I'm sure that we will work jointly to push the bilateral relations to a new stage and cooperate in confronting the challenges of today's world," Kirchner said.
