affairs in a joint statement at

Interparliamentary Meeting.

convicts, or 1.9 percent of the
U.S. jail population, are held
in U.S. prisons, a Colombian
diplomat said on Friday.

approves creation of joint
venture energy firms
The National Assembly of
Venezuela on Friday approved a
government initiation to turn 32
privately-run oil fields into
joint ventures controlled by
Venezuela's state oil company.
