Colombia extradites nine alleged
drug sellers to US
The National Police of Colombia
confirmed Sunday the delivery of
nine people accused of
drug-trafficking and money
laundering to the US Embassy at
the country.
The alleged drug sellers, handed
over to the United States on
Friday, are wanted by courts of
Alabama, Florida, Massachusetts,
New York and Puerto Rico.
With the extradition of the
nine, including seven men and
two women, the number of
Colombians delivered to other
countries rose to 111. Most of
them are wanted by the United
States.
Colombia is one of the world's
biggest cocaine producers and
exporters, with an annual
average output of 550 tons. The
export mainly goes to the United
States and Europe.
