Gas Is Cheaper Today
If you haven't already heard the new, gasoline prices dropped as of midnight last night, bringing the price for a litre of super gasoline to ˘441, down ˘20 colones; regular to ˘420 colones, down ˘19 colones; and diesel to ˘334 colones, down ˘15 colones

The reduction is the second in the part month.

In October the price of gasoline set records, reaching a high of ˘504 colones for a litre of super. The Refinadora Costarricense de Petroleo (Recope) blamed the high prices on the high price of crude oil on world markets.

The price crude fell and this was reflected in Recope's request for a reduction of the price at the pump.

Gasoline prices are expected to hold steady for the balance of the year and next week an ethanol mixture, will be begin to be sold in gas stations in the Guanacaste province.
