Copa Boost for Costa Rica
The South American Football
Confederation (Conmebol) has
invited a Costa Rican team to
participate the forthcoming Copa
Sudamericana - the second most
important club tournament on the
continent.
Conmebol announced on April 28
that they planned to invite two
Mexican teams plus one other
CONCACAF member.
They have now offered the spot
to Costa Rica.
The three teams are not known
yet but will be chosen by
CONCACAF and the local football
associations.
The 10 teams already known are
defending champions Boca Juniors
and River Plate from Argentina,
Chile's Universidad Catolica and
Universidad de Chile, Nacional
and Deportivo Cali from
Colombia, Cerro Porteno of
Paraguay, Peru's Alianza
Atletico and Universitario,
Uruguayan side Danubio and
Defensor Sporting, plus Mineros
and Trujillanos from Venezuela.
