Confidence in the Administration

The confidence of citizens on
the Administration led by
President Abel Pacheco has
reached its lowest level in the
last two years.
Costa Ricans feel that the
Administration is not properly
managing the problems that the
nation faces, is not efficient
in the handling of public funds,
and does not act for the benefit
of the majority.
This appreciation surfaced in
the most recent survey by UNIMER
for the daily La Nación,
and was evident in every item
asked to the respondents.
As an example, 43 percent of the
people defined the performance
of the administration as "bad to
very bad", a 10 percent negative
increase from the opinion held
in November last year.
Also, 56 percent of the people
believe the Administration is
not solving the problems of the
nation, while 80 percent assert
that the Government acts in the
exclusive benefit of some
sectors, but does nothing to
benefit the population at large.
For 82 percent of the
respondents, the spending of
public funds ranges between
inefficient and highly
inefficient.
