thousands of that were supported
paralyze the country, take to
the streets and made their
situation known to the country's
leaders decided to let several
hundreds do their bidding.

Sixty percent of adult Ticos
are "fat", while 6% of children
are also overweight and 25% of
adolescents have problem with

40% of Fire Hydrants Don't Work,
More Needed
According to the Instituto
Nacional de Seguros (INS) - the
national insurance company -
there 5.000 fire hydrants in
Costa Rica, however, 2.000 or
40% of them are in a bad state
of repair and another 4.800 are
needed to properly attend to
emergencies.
