Mexico to Demand the US over Offensive and
tendentious Statements
Mexico will demand the United States over
tendentious and offensive statements by Central Intelligence Agency
(CIA) director Porter Gross.
The statements have nothing to do with the current reality in Mexico,
said Mexican Interior Minister Santiago Creel who elaborated saying that
he would reiterate Mexican´s uncomfortable feeling caused by Gross after
saying that Mexico is the backyard of his country.
In a meeting between Mexico, United States and Canada tomorrow, Creel
will make clear his country´s uneasiness by such offensive statements
and Mexico will not let the bilateral relations to get so low with
statements of this type.
Creel said he will also insist on the need for an agreement that
legalizes all Mexicans who are working in the United States.
According to the Interior minister, the recent statements made by
different US entities and officials regarding the security in the
US-Mexico border and the fight against organized crime do not correspond
with the reality.
The statements are tendentious, manipulating and are trying to damage
Mexico, he stressed.
Deputy Foreign Minister Gerónimo Gutiérrez told press that the
statements by the CIA director are ill-advised because the Mexican
government has a constructive dialogue and spirit of cooperation with
different US security agencies.
