Mid Year School Break Starts
Tomorrow
For the next two weeks 975.000
students will be on school
vacation as the mid-year begins
with the closing bell tomorrow.
What this means is less traffic
on the streets of downtown San
José , but crowded beaches and
malls.
Many Ticos traditionally head
for the beaches and resorts or
the malls during this period.
Some take their vacation period
to coincide with the school
break to spend time with the
family.
Viceministro de Educación,
Wilfrido Blanco, is asking
teachers not to leave their
students with any homework or
projects during the break.
Blanco said "I remind the
teachers that the vacation is
for the children to enjoy
themselves."
Students will be back in the
classroom on July 18.
