International Conference against Terrorism Opens in Havana
Hundreds of intellectuals, artists, union and social leaders, lawmakers and political leaders from around the world are opening Thursday in Havana an International Meeting against Terrorism, for Truth and Justice.

Victims of acts of terror, perpetrated against Latin America and other continents in the interest of the US, are attending the gathering at the city´s main convention center Thursday, Friday and Saturday.

Mothers and Grandmothers of Plaza de Mayo (May Square), families of missing people and survivors of jailings and tortures during the Condor Operation, among others, will speak out the truth at the meeting.

The conference takes place when terrorist of Cuban origin, Luis Posada Carriles, is currently under custody of the administration of President George W. Bush, awaiting an immigration hearing in El Paso, Texas.

Cuba and many other countries of the world have denounced the White House´s involvement with the notorious terrorist and criminal, responsible together with Orlando Bosch (pardoned by ex President George Bush) of bombing a Cuban airliner in 1976 killing 73 people.

Posada Carriles and Bosch are also responsible, according to FBI and CIA declassified files, for many other terrorist attacks.

The Conference is turning Havana into the capital of the world against terrorism not only to condemn acts of terror, but also a place for coordinating actions to mobilize the international public opinion.
