Encuesta de Hogares Begins
Tuesday
Beginning Tuesday July 11 and
continuing until August 10, the
knock on your door could be from
a group of 103 young men and
women from the Instituto
Nacional de Estadística y Censos
(INEC) who are taking part in an
Encuesta de Hogares de
Propósitos Múltiples.- public
opinion poll.
The census will take into
account the life of 13.000
selected homes with the purpose
of gathering statistics on
employment, unemployment,
income, poverty and other
socio-economic situations of
Costa Ricans.
The census will also take into
account the level of information
technology in each household.
La Encuesta de Hogares 2005 is
part of a permanent
program that began in 1976 and
since 1987 has been held
every year in July. The cost of
the poll will cost some ¢115
million colones (us$240.000
dollars).
The results of the opinion poll
are slated for publication in
October.
