Daniel Ortega Supports Independent Nicaraguan Powers
Sandinista Front leader, Daniel Ortega stated independence of powers are not negotiable in a dialogue with the Nicaraguan government.

The former president ascertained the Executive cannot be more powerful than Judicial or Legislative ones because they are autonomous. Ortega insisted “we all have the duty of defending the Constitution.”

The hitherto president, Enrique Bolaños, has declined to accept constitutional reforms, already passed by the single-house Congress, alleging the Central American Court of Justice has declared them illegal.

Ortega pointed out the highest level for a court in his country is the Supreme Court of Justice, which does not recognize the sub regional case to resolve conflicts between the state´s powers and institutions.

Regarding the commencement of the analysis process for the chief of the government’s withdrawal by a Congressional commission, he explained every Nicaraguan that commits a felony should answer to the Judicial Power.

He gave as an example the case of former president Arnoldo Alemán, now sentenced to 20 years imprisonment, when Bolaños the Executive had denounced him for embezzling millions from the state.
