Cuba Polishes Latin American Miracle Mission
Cuba is creating all the necessary conditions to put into practice the Latin American Miracle Mission, which will annually provide over one million poor people in the region with ophthalmological care.

Cuban President Fidel Castro himself referred to the initiative when meeting Cuban workers from health, education, and sports sectors offering their collaboration in the Venezuelan state of Anzoategui, the local press reported Friday.

"We already have the required equipment to outfit 24 rooms, with 6,000 clinical ophthalmologists to diagnose cases," explained Fidel Castro, who was accompanied by his Venezuelan counterpart Hugo Chavez.

Similarly, conditions are being created in the Caracas airport, from where the Latin American and Caribbean patients will travel to Cuba, it was revealed.
