On Traffic Death a Day This
Month, Lowest in 8 Years
Though on average of one
person per day has died this
month due to a traffic accident,
authorities say that December
will be the least violent in the
last eight years.
For the month of December, 27
have died resulting from a
traffic accident. Speeding and
drinking and driving are the
main cause of accidents during
the holiday season.
Transit officials add that the
total number of deaths on Costa
Rican roads this year to date
are 278 compared to 321 the same
time in 2004.
