Risk of Coup in Peru Denounced
Peruvian PNP presidential candidate of the Nationalist Party, Ollanta Humala, has warned of the risk of a coup to thwart his eventual triumph in elections next year.

Ranking second in the polls, Humala blamed Council of Ministers chief Pedro Pablo Kuczyinski and Gen. Paul Da Silva for such plans.

The nationalist leader recalled that a few days ago, said military officer made insulting remarks against him "in violation of neutrality that should be observed by members of the Armed Forces in the electoral process."

If any other candidate had been the target of his attacks the representatives of traditional parties would be throwing up their hands in horror and the government would have him dismissed, said Humala.

He denounced being targeted by a annihilation campaign ranging from tracking to spying, as was shown on a TV program that released details of his activities and even internal party documents.
