Fujimori Extradition Files
Approved
The Peruvian Supreme Court´s
Provisional Criminal Court has
submitted the first files on the
extradition of ex President
Alberto Fujimori to a joint
committee of the Justice and the
Foreign Affairs ministries,
which is looking into them
Wednesday.
The Supreme Court had three days
to rule their relevance but it
completed the procedure in less
than 24 hours so the criminal
court approve them and send them
to Chile, whose tribunals will
rule on Fujimori´s extradition.
The package contains a file on
Fujimori´s allowing ex advisor
Vladimiro Montesinos to seize
the National Intelligence
Service.
There is another one on the ex
Peruvian ruler´s use of the
money from that agency to pay
debts of Argentine publicist
Daniel Borobio, and on the
creation of a criminal body to
tap and intercept phone calls.
The Supreme Court considered
Tuesday the case of tortures on
journalist Fabian Salazar.
