What To Do With a Dog in Love?
Members of the Fuerza Pública (police) in El Carmen de Cartago had a real problem in their hands when a Siberian Husky was wondering the streets in love with a street dog.

Police believe the Husky has an owner and must have gotten lose, since the dog is valued at more than ¢200.000 colones.

Police say that they got reports of the Husky loose and after a small street dog. Several people had complained to police being scared by the large dog that was lose in the neighbourhood, leaving some residents scared.

Siberian Huskys, originating from the cold climates of North America and believed to be descendants of the Wolf, though many say that is not so, have become common in Costa Rica. Husky are a very loyal breed and mate for life.

Police tried to separat the two dogs, and finally were able to capture the Husky and drop him off some 10 kilometres away. But that didnt' sway the large dog, who made its way back for his true love.

This time, police and a representative of the Sociedad Protectora de Animales (Aminal Protection Society) decided to place both dogs in the "perrera" or police wagon so that the large dog would not be a threat to the residents, as he got agrgessive when anyone tried to remove his true love.

The Animal Protection Society is now hoping that the owner of the Husky appears to claim the dog.
