Best Mother's Day Gift: A
Newborn Baby
While many spent Mother's Day in
the crowded malls around San
José, nine would be mothers were
in the Maternidad Carit and the
Hospital de las Mujeres waiting
to be mothers.
The first baby born on Mother's
Day 2005 came at 1:25am to a
young mother from Puerto Viejo
de Sarapiquí. Twenty three year
old Elena Bello was two weeks
early in giving birth to Joseth,
who never expected to give birth
on Mother's Day, let alone being
the first.
The second baby born on Mother's
Day came at 1:40am when Andrea
Brenes' pregnancy became
complicated as doctors had to
perform a cesarean section. Juan
Pablo was the second child for
Andrea.
Both mothers said that they got
the best gift that a mother
could receive.
