It's Official -  the "Rainy" Season is Around the Corner
The decrease inthe winds and the increase in humidity are provoking the sensation of hot and muggy nights, which according to the Irina Katchan, of the Instituto Meteorológico Nacional (IMN) - the weatherman - this is evidence that the transition from the "dry" to the "rainy" season is underway.

In March and early April the night winds produced cool mornings. However, in the last weeks, the winds have died down and mugginess is filling the morning air, making it feel warmer, but it really isn't so.

In Liberia the high this month was recorded at 36.1 Celsius and the low 22.6 Celsius, which is in keeping with the averages for the month of April - 36 Celsius and 23 Celsius.

At the Tobías Bolaños airport in Pavas - west of San José -  the wind speed was record at 6.7 km/h at 4:00pm yesterday with a relative humidity of 70%.  From January to March the wind speed at Pavas hovered at 30km/h.

The winter or "rainy" season is around the corner, which will mean lower temperatures, higher humidity and lots of rain.
