Venezuela rules out suspending oil supply to US
Venezuela, the world's fifth largest crude exporter, has no plans for a suspension of oil supply to the United States, Vice President Jose Rangel said here Friday.

During a meeting with ruling party mayors, Rangel ruled out the suspension and told the US government not to worry about it.

Venezuela, the fourth largest oil supplier to the United States, "has guaranteed a continuous and sustained flow of Venezuelan fuel to the United States, even in moments when the petroleum reserve has decreased," he said.

Bilateral ties have been hit by political friction since President Hugo Chavez took office six years ago, but trade between the two countries remains unaffected. Venezuela exports some 1.5 million barrels of oil to the United States a day, accounting for 15 percent of the total US oil import.
