Plan Fiscal Back to Commission
Level
Like a ping pong ball, for three
years now the Plan Fiscal - Tax
Reform - is being bounced back
and forth and without an
approval in sight.
The Fiscal Plan is now back at
the commission level after
failing to receive the necessary
majority vote and not one of the
articles getting any approval
without further modifications.
The Plan has been before the
Legislative Assembly a number of
times already and each time has
failed to pass. Mario Redondo,
deputy for the Partido Unidad
Social Cristiana (PUSC) - ruling
party - said people should not
get the idea that "the
Legislative Assembly is there
only to provide obstacles and to
discredit the workd of others."
The Plan has many allies and
enemies as well. There are
groups who are eager to have the
Plan approved as soon as
possible, claiming it is the
best for the country, while
others say that the Plan, in
it's present form, will create
further financial problems.
The Plan for it to be approved
needs the approval by 38 of the
deputies in the Legislative
Assembly.
