Concacaf Fines  Saprissa
The Concacaf soccer federation fined the Deportivo Saprissa of Costa Rica with us$10 thousand dollars because of the misbehavior of its fans at a game against the Monterrey team of Mexico.

Saprissa officials said in statements released on Friday to the media, that the Concacaf decision was made because the fans of the team threw  "missiles"  onto the field.

The game between Saprissa and Monterrey  on Thursday, April 7, in San José concluded with a tie of 2-2. Saprissa is property of the Mexican businessman, Jorge Vergara.

The disorders of the fans were recorded by the game's commissioner, the Guatemalan Henry Morales, and the Salvadoran referee, Rodolfo Sobrain.

The leadership of the Costa Rican Soccer Federation (Fedefut) is not hiding its concern, because if an act like this is repeated, the Concacaf will punish the field and won't allow more international games to be held there.

The president of the Fedefut, Hermes Navarro, said that, in case of a similar situation, the stadium could be considered as unsuitable for the national team games, which could damage the Costa Rican and the national team image.

According to Navarro, the federation is getting ready a radio and television campaign to make the fans to think and to avoid this situations to be repeated.
