Brazilian Lula Kicks Off Third Tour of Rapprochement with Africa
President of Brazil Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva is expected to leave this city after attending the Pope´s funeral and embarked on a third tour of rapprochement with Africa as part of his South-South collaboration policy.

He will visit Cameroon, the first leg of Lula´s tour that also includes Nigeria, Ghana, Guinea-Bissau and Senegal, after which he would have visited 14 African countries in his 27 months in power.

"The return of the President to Africa reinforces the importance Africa has for Brazilian foreign policy, said Bazil´s Foreign Ministry African department chief, ambassador Pedro Motta Pinto Coelho.

This tour, as the previous ones, seeks to deepen economic, political, cooperation links with a region of remarkable importance in the formation of nationality in Brazil, a country with the world´s second largest black population.
