Most Popular President In The Americas
Costa Rican president, Oscar Arias, scored
fourth place in popularity in the Americas,
according to a a poll by the Barómetro
Iberoamericano de Gobernabilidad (American
Governance Barometer) for the Consorcio
Iberoamericano de Empresas de Investigación
de Mercados y Asesoramiento (CIMA).
Arias Remains
Above 50% Mark in Costa Rica
Óscar Arias Sánchez maintains a positive
approval rating in Costa Rica, according to
a poll by CID-Gallup. 53 per cent of
respondents rate their president’s
performance as good or very good, down seven
points since October 2007.
Caja Will Train Women

The Caja Costarricense de Seguro Social (CCSS)
- Costa Rica's social security - has
undertaken the task of teaching women how to
correctly use a female condom. During the
coming months the Caja will give training
classes to women who show a high risk of
contracting a sexually transmitted disease
(STD).
