Fourth Most Popular President In The
Americas
Costa Rican president, Oscar Arias, scored
fourth place in popularity in the Americas,
according to a a poll by the Barómetro
Iberoamericano de Gobernabilidad (American
Governance Barometer) for the Consorcio
Iberoamericano de Empresas de Investigación
de Mercados y Asesoramiento (CIMA).
Ahead of Arias are: US president, Barack
Obama, Colombia's Alavaro Uribe, and
Brazil's Luiz Ignacio Lula da Silva.
The poll was taken between March 15, 2009
and April 15, 2009 in 20 countries, taking
in the answers of 11.954 people over the age
of 18, asked of their opinion of the current
presidents.
The scoring reveals that Arias received a
66%, while Obama got an 85%, Uribe, 74% and
da Silva 73%. Hugo Chavez of Venezuela got a
61% score and Mexico's Felipe Calderón a
60%.
At the bottom of the list are Argentina's
Cristina Fernández with a 30% score and
Nicaragua's Daniel Ortega with a 35%. |
