MOPT Loses Driver License

Need a driver's license and
don't want to wait in line or
haven't passed the driving exam?
No need to worry, licenses may
be available on the street, as
the Ministerio de Obras Públicas
y Transportes (MOPT) has learned
that10.500 blank plastic cards
and the laminating security seal
it uses to issue driver
licenses, have gone missing.
The Policia Control de
Drogas (PCD) police took
custody of the four
Costa Rican fishermen
and 150 kilos of cocaine
from the U.S. Coast
Guard following last
weeks largest drug haul
in the country's
history. Some 7.900
kilos of cocaine was
confiscated by the U.S.
Coast Guard on high
seas, 200 miles off the
Isla de Coco.

Costa Ricans and some 150 kilos
of cocaine in the hands of Costa
Rican officials. A Mexican and
Colombian national, along with
the rest of the 7.850 kilos of
cocaine headed for the United
States to stand trial there.
