January 19th, 2016 (ICR News) Powerful winds Tuesday morning have downed trees, streetlights, power lines and other structures in various parts of the country.
The powerful wind has been affecting the entire Central Valley and many other areas of the country since Monday, but increased in intensity Tuesday morning, even blowing over a large McDonald’s sign in the Guadalupe district of San Jose which narrowly missed bystanders and parked vehicles.
Additional damage has been reported in Goicoechea and Alajuela, amongst other areas, though no injuries have been reported.
The National Meteorological Institute (IMN) predicts that the condition will persist until Wednesday afternoon.
As always, authorities urge the public to never approach downed power lines.
