November 23rd, 2015 (ICR News) A 57-year-old man from the United States was arrested Saturday in Escazu for allegedly luring minors via social media and taking them to his home and then soliciting them for sex in exchange for payment, and in at least one case, forcibly raping a minor.
The man was arrested at his three-story luxury home shortly before he was preparing to head to the Juan Santamaria International Airport to leave the country, according to the Judicial Investigative Police (OIJ).
The man is accused of having sex with at least one minor at his home, and faces charges of rape, paid sex with a minor, and sexual solicitation of a minor.
Authorities began investigating the man in June, after one minor said that they were forcibly raped after refusing to have sex with the man.
The suspect, whose identity was not immediately released by authorities, apparently split his time between the United States and Costa Rica.
