October 14th, 2015 (ICR News) Costa Rica telecoms regulator, SUTEL, through the National Telecommunications Fund (FONATEL), has opened to bidding a project to bring high speed, fixed-line Internet service to several areas of the country’s Atlantic region.
The US $20 million project will provide fixed-line broadband Internet and telephone to some 220,000 inhabitants and 35,000 students in Siquirres, Matina, Limon, and Talamanca who live in areas without such access.
Bidding will close on December 11th, and telecom operator(s) awarded contracts will have a maximum of one year to complete the works.
