ICR NEWS BRIEF
September 10th, 2015 (ICR News) More than one hundred municipal workers in the municipality of Santa Cruz, Guanacaste began an “indefinite” strike Wednesday morning, and municipal services will be postponed until a resolution is met, union representatives said.
The unionized workers allege that the municipality is behind in overtime payments owed to workers, as well as a scheduled mid-year wage increase.
Workers are also protesting the long-term use of temporary staff.
All municipal services will be under a work stoppage until an agreement can be reached with the mayor, according to union representatives.
