Costa Rica motorists to get some relief as gasoline, diesel prices fall on Thursday

September 2^nd, 2015 (ICR News) Motorists in Costa Rica will receive some relief at the pump beginning on Thursday.

The price of premium gasoline (“super”) will fall ¢44 per liter from ¢679/liter ($4.80/gal)* to ¢635/liter ($4.49/gal)*; regular gasoline will decrease from ¢642/liter ($4.54/gal)* to ¢603/liter ($4.27/gal)*, while diesel will fall ¢28/liter from ¢479/liter ($3.39/gal)* to ¢451/liter ($3.19/gal)*.

The Costa Rican Oil Refinery (RECOPE) and regulator ARESEP said the decreases are the result of the falling international price of oil.

The price of Brent crude oil, the global benchmark, fell below $49 a barrel on Monday and stood at $48.77 Wednesday morning.
