Body of US citizen dumped in the street with gunshot wound to the head

UPDATE: VICTIM BELIEVED TO BE WELL-KNOWN PLAYAS DEL COCO EXPAT

August 20^th, 2015 (ICR News) The body of an American man was dumped from a moving vehicle near the stoplights on the Circunvalación beltway in Hatillo 7, shortly before 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday, according to the Judicial Investigative Police (OIJ).

The man, described as being in his 40s from an unofficial source, had a gunshot wound to the back of his head, according to the OIJ.

Authorities investigating the homicide have yet to release the name of the victim.  A thorough search of the area found no bullet casings, leading investigators to believe the man was killed in a different location.

Residents who live on the side street where the U.S. man’s body was dumped described seeing a green sedan fleeing the scene at a high rate of speed towards the Circunvalación, according to La Nacion.
