July 7th, 2015 (ICR News) Inside Costa Rica has begun a gradual transition to the name “ICR News.” The shift does not involve any change to ownership or staff.
Why the change?
By the end of the year, ICR intends to increase our coverage from our neighbors – Nicaragua and Panama (we are currently seeking local editors). The name change is better suited to that goal. However, we will not lose focus of our core readership here in Costa Rica, where we intend to further expand our focus areas and improve our publishing operations.
Secondly, a handful of international news organizations have expressed interest in syndicating some of our reporting. The name “ICR News” is better suited for use in such context.
We also believe the name “ICR News” better reflects our style of news reporting, which focuses on current events.
If you are a news writer in Nicaragua or Panama and are interested in joining us as a country editor, please drop us a line at [email protected].
If you are a news organization interested in syndication, please drop us a line at [email protected].
Will the change affect the way I access or receive ICR?
No. You can continue to access ICR both at InsideCostaRica.com as well as ICRNews.com. If you are an email subscriber, you will continue to receive email updates as usual.
Sincerely,
Tim Williams
