June 24th, 2015 (InsideCostaRica.com) Some relief in the cost of electricity is coming in July due to increased rainfall associated with the rainy season, the Regulatory Authority for Public Services (ARESEP) has announced.

As part of the normal quarterly adjustment, customers will pay up to 8.53% less on their electric bills beginning in July, depending upon their provider.

The reductions are as follows:

Costa Rican Electricity Institute (ICE) -7.93%

National Power and Light Company (CNFL) -8.53%

Jasec -8.29%

Public Service Company of Heredia (ESPH) -8.46%

Coopelesca -2.46%

Coopesantos -5.24%

Unfortunately for many in Guanacaste, Coopeguanacaste customers will not see a price reduction.

The rates will take effect on July 1st until September 30th.
