June 4th, 2015 (InsideCostaRica.com) Agents of Costa Rica’s Drug Control Police (PCD) at the Peñas Blancas border crossing with Nicaragua seized $1 million in cash from a Guatemalan truck driver carrying a load of toilet paper destined for Costa Rica on Monday.
The seizure came just hours after agents seized 79 kilos of cocaine from another Guatemalan truck driver at the same checkpoint.
The cash was hidden in one of the truck’s fuel tanks, according to officials.
The driver was taken into custody on suspicion of drug trafficking and money laundering.
