May 14th, 2015 (InsideCostaRica.com) Several foreign tourists discovered the body of a man shortly after 9 a.m. Wednesday morning in Jaco.
Red Cross personnel at the scene said they believe the man had been dead about 24 hours, but it would be up to the Judicial Investigative Police (OIJ) to determine the time and cause of death.
The man appears to be about 30 years old, according to reports. There were no identity documents on the man’s body.
Unofficial reports indicate that the man may have been the victim of homicide, and his body may have been dumped where it was discovered.
The remains are not believed to be those of 33-year-old U.S. citizen, Ibrahim Sam Karadsheh, who disappeared Tuesday afternoon in Jaco after succumbing to a powerful undercurrent while swimming at the beach. Authorities are continuing the search for Karadsheh, who is believed to have drowned.
