April 6th, 2015 (InsideCostaRica.com) A driver, who has reportedly admitted to being inebriated at the time, had a little trouble boarding his SUV onto the commuter ferry in Puntarenas on Thursday afternoon, and witnesses – many on vacation for Holy Week, were there to capture the incident on camera.
The driver, identified only by the last name Sandí, apparently accelerated forward and off the leading edge of the boarding ramp before the ramp had been lowered, despite attempts from bystanders to alert the driver of the impending danger.
Fortunately, none of the passengers of the vehicle or bystanders were injured in the incident, though ferry service was disrupted for a period time.
The driver admitted to being under the influence of alcohol at the time of the incident, according to a statement obtained by CRHoy.com.
