Since taking over Inside Costa Rica more than two years ago, my mission has been to deliver our readers transparent, unbiased, accurate and reliable current events reporting that our readers can trust.
Unfortunately, we have failed you in that mission for the past six weeks, and regardless of the circumstances, I apologize to you.
Shortly after Christmas, I began to suffer from a serious medical condition, which – after a brief cancer scare – appears to be primarily heart-related. It took weeks to get to the root cause of the condition, of which even now we are not completely certain. During this period I have been generally bed-ridden along with several trips to the hospital.
Unfortunately, as a (very) small shop, ICR simply cannot function without my presence.
But, at last, I feel as though I am returning to health. While I am not completely well just yet, I feel well enough to return to my post as your editor. It may be a little slow-going getting back into the swing of things this week, but we plan to resume regular daily publishing beginning today, and we should be back in full swing come next week.
I am still quite young at just 35, and no doubt I will be able to recover fully provided proper medical care and medication. I fully intend to continue to deliver on my promise to readers for many, many years to come.
I sincerely appreciate all of the well wishes we have received from our readers. It provided me with that extra incentive to get back to my post as soon as I was possibly able.
None of our monthly advertisers were charged during our absence and those who were prepaid have had their accounts adjusted appropriately. All of our advertisers were kept well informed of the situation, and we appreciate their continued support of ICR as well.
Despite rumors to the contrary, ICR remains under the same ownership, and I remain your editor – hopefully for many years to come.
Again, I appreciate your patience during our absence, and I hope you will continue to make ICR one of your daily reads.
Sincerely,
Tim Williams
