Airliner with 118 on board makes emergency landing at SJO after fuel leak, fire

December 1st, 2014 (InsideCostaRica.com) A Copa Airlines flight with 118 passengers plus crew on board was forced to make an emergency landing at Costa Rica’s Juan Santamaria International Airport around 10 a.m. Sunday morning, according to the airport Fire Department and the Red Cross.

 

While details were scarce, fire officials reported that the aircraft was leaking fuel from one of its wings.  The Red Cross also reported the presence of a fire.

 

More than a dozen rescue units responded to the scene.  There were no reports of injuries during the incident.
