Police stop vehicle in Pavas, discover body in the trunk

November 24th, 2014 (InsideCostaRica.com) Police in Pavas were met with gunfire when they attempted to stop a vehicle during the early morning hours of Saturday.

 

After a brief exchange of gunfire between police and the occupants of the vehicle, police were able to stop the vehicle and arrest two Nicaraguan suspects and one Costa Rican.

 

Police, however were in for a surprise upon searching the suspects’ vehicle.

 

After opening the trunk, police discovered the bullet-riddled body of a man with a bag over his head.

 

The three suspects, identified by the last names Mednez, Urbina, and Saborio, were taken into custody on suspicion of murder.  Two of the suspects were hit by police bullets during the exchange of gunfire and were transported to the San Juan de Dios hospital.  None of the police officers were injured in the incident.

 

Police said that all three suspects, as well as the deceased, have extensive criminal histories.

    As long as the Justice system catch and release criminals this will embolden them to continue. Including murder. This most likely not the first ones they killed nor will it be the last. What you bet a few of them are release after a 90 day detention? Solutions here would be to build prison with at least 2,000 more beds and get these dangerous criminals off the streets. Lucas Island I think that is the name needs to be reopened and start sending them there. have them build the infrastructure and police themselves.. That would be a real devils island and put some fear in these sissy Tico’s who rob and kill the weak. Right President Solis and Diputados??

    Inmates should do very hard labor, have them build new prisons, grow cotton and there own food. I like the ideal of putting them own a island. Congress should be audited the guilty ones should do life at hard labor.

    Good luck these guys are most likely already walking around the streets the justice ministry is more corupt than the mafia or are they the mafia. Look at the EX CR presidents who stole money not one day in Jail. I know one guy in CR that robbed a bank with a gun and did no jail time because the Justice ministry lost a file and the video of the robbery was lost. The justice ministry could screw up a bad cup of coffee there that bad. Police try but they need a justice ministry that understands to do there job and not grease there own palms.
