October 13th, 2014 (InsideCostaRica.com) The leftist Frente Amplio Party (FA), now Costa Rica’s third largest political party in terms of seats in the Legislative Assembly, celebrated the 10th anniversary of its founding on Saturday.
The four-hour event was attended by former FA presidential candidate, José María Villalta and the nine current FA lawmakers in the Legislative Assembly, along with more than 500 supporters.
Party members paid tribute to the life of party founder, José Merino del Río, who died on October 8th, 2012, with the screening of a short film summarizing much of Merino’s life and the founding of the FA.
