Bill would ban child beauty pageants in Costa Rica

October 10th, 2014 (InsideCostaRica.com) A bill being put forth by PUSC party lawmaker, Humberto Vargas, would ban all forms of child beauty pageants in Costa Rica.

The bill’s aim is to end “the objectifications of girls, boys, and adolescents which encourages the early eroticism” of children and teens and the “hyper-sexualization” of young girls.

The bill argues that such pageants can encourage pedophilia, as well as sexual violence and child sex trafficking.

The bill would ban anyone under the age of 16 from participating in beauty pageants.

The bill has gained the support of the child welfare agency, PANI.

Really, this is the idea to stop sex trafficking, child molesters , etc of children. Keep in mind I am not a fan of beauty pagaents, and believe the objectify your however, EDUCATION of adults and children is the key to curbing this problem. These problems will never completely go away, however with education and very stiff government penalties it can be slowed way down. That is why I am such an advocate for Heart of a Girl/Strength of a Young Man, because it gives the youth the tools to start the change. As soon as CR is ready to look at the true cause of why the youth are subject to the marketing of youth and the early age pregnancies this will continue as they are not addressing the root of the problem. The internet also plays a large part in all of this. People can see things they never could have imagined on their own which leads to the human weakness – sex, one of the strongest drivers of wrongdoing for many people. It is imperative that our youth learn their true worth on this plant, in this lifetime. Teaching girls that they contribute to the community and world, their own personal self worth, and the opportunities possible to them in the future and teach them that there true success is when they learn to love themselves, appreciating themselves for who they are, the world is open for them to fulfill their dreams. We cannot stop there however, young men many times have no outlet for their own emotions, by teaching them ways to honor themselves, be part of a community of like minded young men, and to also learn a new way of appreciating those around them, these young men have an opportunity to be successful in life, and becoming fathers when it is the right time, that can love and support their families. And the parents of many of the young girls look at girls as solely an income when they become a teenager. Educating the parents that a healthy educated independent woman will make more money and emotional security for the family than a young girl that has 5 children, no fathers of the children, and no longer able to pursue her dreams, and very poor by the age of 22 is not an asset. I know that education to the Costa Rican people is very expensive (about 1/10 of here in the USA). This is when the government steps in and makes education affordable for everyone. With my many trips and living in Costa Rica, I have found that the people are crying to be educated and make a better life for their families. Programs such as Heart of a Girl/Strength of a Young Man are proven methods to provide the youth of our world a new view on life and the opportunities that are available to them. Our program is gender specific, directed at youth between the ages of 8 – 18. We also have a program that is specifically designed for Latino girls and their unique culture. Also available is our newest program Heart of a Young Woman that is specially for young women ages 18-24, providing them an opportunity to create a road map to get to where they dream their life to be. Contact me and I would be so happy to explain how we can bring this opportunity to your youth . I would love to be a part of such a wonderful revelation for Costa Rica. Peace to your people and your country. See our program information and if you are interested in providing this life changing program to your youth, contact us at http://www.HeartOfAGirl.com
