Waves up to 8.5 feet expected on Pacific beaches, authorities urge caution

October 8th, 2014 (InsideCostaRica.com) Forecasters are warning of rough seas, high tides and large waves on the country’s Pacific coast today and tomorrow.

Forecasters are warning beachgoers of waves that could reach 8.5 feet and are advising those in small vessels of possible rough seas, especially in the southern Pacific.  Areas of caution include Quepos, El Cocal (Puntarenas), Pavones, Golfo Dulce and Playa Zancudo.

There is also the potential for rough seas in the northern Pacific, with wind gusts as high as 22 knots.

Those living in areas prone to tidal flooding should also be on alert.
