Landslide on Route 142 could affect travel between La Fortuna and Nuevo Arenal

October 6th, 2014 (InsideCostaRica.com) A large landslide that occurred over the weekend on Route 142, which connects La Fortuna and Nuevo Arenal in San Carlos, could affect travel between the two towns today as work crews work to clear the roadway.

 

The landslide restricted travel to a single lane of the two-lane route over the weekend.

 

Work crews from the National Roads Authority (CONAVI) are expected to send in machinery today to clear the route and perform repairs, which could cause delays in travel between the two communities.

 

Additional rain being reported in the area today could further complicate matters.
